(Corona closed: November 2 - June 17, 2021)

In the STUDIO BERLIN exhibition, the Boros Foundation showed the works of contemporary artists who live and work in Berlin. On display were national and international positions from the fields of photography, sculpture, painting, video, sound, performance and installation.

The studio as a production site was the focus of the exhibition, forming its starting point. Artists’ studios are venues for discussion, reflection, translation, analysis, and conceptual thinking. STUDIO BERLIN serves as a snapshot and exploration of the artists‘ current situation, documenting their point of view on today’s global shifts in socio-political paradigms.

Berlin has the highest density of studios and art workshops in Europe - artists from all over the world move to this place to be able to work from here. In the spring of 2020, drastic changes hit: Among other things, planned exhibitions and art fairs were canceled or postponed, galleries and museums closed, larger project plans could not be realized. The nightlife in Berlin was also completely shut down. Out of this situation Boros and the Berghain came together. The main purpose of the exhibition project was to reflect current trends and changes in art and society and to provide Berlin artists with a presentation space for their artistic work.
